Classroom Films for Women’s History Month
“I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.”
— Angela Davis, feminist activist, philosopher, academic, and author
As Women’s History Month approaches in March, we’re highlighting the work of the scores of women filmmakers, scholars, journalists, and activists we’ve collaborated with over the years. Below you’ll find a range of MEF titles that were either made by women or feature women’s scholarship and work. Whether the subject is distorted media representations of women’s beauty, right-wing attacks on women’s reproductive freedom, or one-sided news coverage of war and terrorism, these titles share a commitment to thinking critically about the political and social impact of dominant media narratives.
At a time when women’s rights are under renewed threat at home and abroad, we’re as dedicated as ever to amplifying the voices of women who challenge the status quo and speak truth to power.
