Setting Up a Starting Point URL for Off-Campus Access

To make sure your off-campus access to our streaming platform works properly, you may need to set up a unique starting point URL, depending on your institution’s server settings.

Finding Your Starting Point URL

Each institution has a different starting point URL based on their authentication system. This URL is neccessary for off-campus users to access content securely through the institution’s network.

Access URL Resources

For more detailed information on setting up access URLs, refer to the resources provided by your authentication system. If your institution uses OpenAthens, they offer a convenient OpenAthens link generator, along with instructions on how to use it.

For EZProxy Users

If your institution uses EZProxy, you may need to manually adjust your URLs by appending specific characters to the beginning of the full URL.

Here’s an example of how to format the URL:

https://films.mediaed.org

might become something like

https://ezproxy.NAMEOFSCHOOL.edu/login?url=https://films.mediaed.org

“NAMEOFSCHOOL” in the above example would be replaced with your institution’s actual EZProxy prefix. Please be sure to test the link after making edits to ensure it works correctly.

Need Help?
