New Film on LGBTQ Characters in Television In Production

We’re excited to announce that filmmaker and media scholar Katherine Sender is producing an update to her 2006 film Further Off the Straight & Narrow under the working title Beyond the Straight & Narrow. This new title will pick up where her previous film left off, exploring how LGBTQ characters on television have evolved since the explosion of digital television. Katherine Sender is a professor in the Department of Communication and the Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Cornell University. Her research and teaching focus on gender, sexuality, and gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer media.
